SPOT

The French SPOT satellites have been providing high quality satellite images since the launch of the first SPOT satellite in 1986. Almost two decades of data from the entire globe area available, making SPOT the preferred solution in many applications where time series are important. The SPOT system is extremely flexible with currently three satellites in orbit with spatial resolutions ranging from 2.5 m to 20 m. This makes it possible to choose the best resolution relative to the price. Acquisition flexibility is very high as the sensors can be programmed so it is possible for SPOT to cover an specific areas of interest every day. Another advantage of SPOT is the large swath width of the sensor. A SPOT scenes covers as much as 60 x 60 km and therefore SPOT is an attractive solution for large areas, for instance in relation to agricultural monitoring and natural resource assessment. Download SPOT brochure.
