WinChips

Overview
WinChips, the Copenhagen Image Processing System, is a general-purpose software package for remote sensing image processing and spatial data analysis with extensive support for NOAA AVHRR data and Orthophoto creation. WinChips has been developed to serve the software needs for teaching, research and operational applications within satellite image processing and - to some extent – GIS in close collaboration with the Institute of Geography, University of Copenhagen. The close interaction between operational users of remote sensing data, researchers, students and the Chips Developing Team has ensured that ease of use, versatility and efficiency have been considered in the design.

The standard WinChips software is now available as freeware while support and extensions are supplied against payment. The software can be downloaded from www.geogr.ku.dk/chips. Future users must be registered before using the software. For more information contact GRAS.

Script programming
The Chips Scripting Language (CSL) is a powerful tool for automating procedures in WinChips. GRAS has profound expertise in application programming for WinChips and can create scripts for any type of processing upon request. Courses in WinChips and CLS are also available.
